OMG it was awful. The sun baking me didn't help (man i'm so glad i didn't wear the black tech shirt today-lol-), but I have a bad chest cold which did me in for the whole run. I couldn't get my breathing right, so my pace was wrong, my legs got sore fast (my right foot is still painful/numb in some places). My friend Amanda got me through it all, I would not have finished without her but finished we did. If I had been in better condition we would have finished on our target of 2:50 or less, but we walked most of the 10k back (we ran the downhills and flat parts the best my body would let me). We powered through the last bit of the museum and sprinted down the chute in 3:21:30.0
Today has proved to me that I really just don't like running long distance. Training for this has had me thinking about it for a while and 10k is a really nice distance. I like 10k runs *L* I'm scheduled to run a full marathon in January in Miami, but IDK now. I may just tap out, eat the FM entry and sign up for the Tropical 5k and have a nice vacation with my friends instead. Part of me hates the idea because I mean, I can totally do this, but I just don't like being out on the road for that long. As my husband said this afternoon when we got home - if you hate it that bad, you need to figure out why you are doing it. Are you trying to prove something? If so, to who. For health you don't need to do this to be healthy - smaller shorter distances will give you the same AND you don't get bored. Time for some soul searching.
Realizing that this stupid long hill... I have to go back UP that hill in the last 1k :\ Oh and 1k.. only 20 more to go.
Kilometer I have no idea. Somewhere between 7-8 I think. It was if anything, a pretty course.
Not too tired to perv at the hot marathon runner.
Before collapsing in to the van
