38 days till the Miami Half. Yep. The Half! I decided to just push ahead and drop down to that distance and do it. It came from a lot of thinking and some emotional push from my bootcamp friends.  Yes I don't enjoy that distance, but it's not something I cannot do. I've had enough "I can'ts", it's time to change that.

What a fantastic and uplifting race that is. I walked up the stupid hill for fun last Friday and last night while out on course with SoF for photo day, I ran the entire time we were moving. Being that I'm on M/W/F we don't do a whole lot of focus on strength building on it's own (pushups, situps, squats etc) and our fitness test comprised of a 1 mile run, pushups till failure, 1 minute of situps, shoulder presses (with a 45lb plate) and chinups. We did not get to the chinups or shoulder presses due to running out of time.

We got to carry her to the park and then up and down a giant hill 3x. If we weren't on Misery detail, we were carrying 2 sticks of rebar. I had the Emilie's Run on June 25. The weather was wet and both A&amp;I had mentally not there issues - I also had a leg  issue. Tuesday I start my marathon training. It's a 30 week program by Hal Higdon that will take me through to my half marathon in October. Man was it ever exhausting. I suppose this is kind of like Couch to 5k but less annoying. Over the years it's fluctuated in severity with going on medication for about 10 months in 2005. I had wild success with it however in early 2006 I found out I was pregnant. I ran like a bat out of h3ll for the first 10 minutes. IT.FELT.AMAZING.

With the Cookie Run, I think I just wasn't sure of what to expect. How  long 5k was, how long I perceived it to be.  With last night's race I  had a 100% expectation of the distance, where it fell along the road we  raced on, I knew exactly how far.
